David Bellion: Building Culture

At Caledonian Braves, we want to do football differently. For us, culture is not a buzzword or an add-on. It is the heartbeat of the club. It shapes how we play, how we connect with supporters and what makes this club feel unique.

To build that culture properly, you need someone with the right vision, experience and creative instinct. That is why we are delighted to welcome David Bellion as our new Head of Culture.

David brings together top-level football experience and a strong background in the creative industries. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he has the mindset and understanding needed to help define what Caledonian Braves, and our supporters in Scotland and around the world, truly represent.

Being based in Scotland gives this role real meaning. The country’s deep football history and passion provide the perfect environment to build something modern while respecting tradition. Alliance Park is the ideal setting to bring those ideas together in a way that feels authentic and forward-thinking.

At 42, David has already lived several football lives. As a player, he represented clubs including Manchester United and OGC Nice. When he retired in 2016, he chose a different path from most former professionals. At his final club, Red Star FC in Paris, he took on the role of Creative Director, leading work that blended football with art, music and culture.

That experience opened the door to further creative projects beyond the pitch. David moved into the fashion and styling world, working on projects that focused on identity, expression and storytelling within football culture.

Now, David brings that journey to Alliance Park. His appointment, announced on 1 September, immediately sparked excitement among Braves supporters about what this could mean for the future of the club, both on and off the pitch.

Having someone with David’s background involved opens new opportunities for how Caledonian Braves grows as a club. This is about more than 90 minutes on a Saturday. It is about building a strong sense of identity, strengthening connections with our community and presenting the Braves as a modern football club with a clear cultural direction.

On 6 November, David visited the squad at Alliance Park, speaking about the importance of building bridges between Caledonian Braves and the wider world. That idea of connection sits at the heart of his role, linking football with art, fashion, music and community.

The relationship between David and club owner Chris Ewing has played a key role in bringing this vision to life. Built on trust, shared ideas and long-standing respect, it shows how strong relationships can help drive meaningful change within a football club.

With David Bellion as Head of Culture, Caledonian Braves are not only building a football team. We are building a story, an identity and a club that reflects who we are. Brave, modern and unafraid to do things our own way.
