BSC Glasgow vs Caledonian Braves

L 6 - 1

Caledonian Braves FC suffered a hammering defeat at the hands of BSC Glasgow at the Indodrill Stadium in Alloa on Saturday.

BSC started the game brightly and managed to force four corners within the opening few minutes of the game. An indicator of the dominance that was to come.

The home side took the lead early doors when a neat give and go down the right hand side allowed full back McCormack to smash the ball home from a tight angle.

Braves attempted to hit back fast as Blair Docherty was found in space on the left hand side of the box. The winger’s shot went wide of the target but appeals for a penalty were turned away after the BSC defender appeared to make contact with Docherty.

Bsc would continue to dominate though. A slack pass from Neil McLaughlin allowed BSC to hit Braves on the Counter. Hamilton made a darting run into the box and slotted home BSC’s second of the afternoon.

A third shortly followed. Just before the half time mark a long ball was flicked on through to Thomas Orr. The striker beat the offside trap, rounded Alex Marshall and tapped home to end a poor first half from the away team.

The second half started in similar fashion to the first. BSC put pressure on the Braves backline and eventually found themselves 5-0 after a quick-fire double. The ball was fizzed in from a wide area, Braves failed to clear their lines eventually leading to Jean Guy Lucas firing the ball off the back of Grehan and it found its way into the back of the net. Two minutes later a free header from McMillan at a Corner Kick gave the home side their fifth.

Substitute Ben Daily gained a consolation for the Braves when he picked up on a mistake from the BSC defence and calmly slotted past the oncoming keeper. His first goal in the Lowland League this season.

BSC would make sure that there job was finished when McMillan had a free header at goal, this time from a free-kick as he put the sixth goal of the afternoon past Marshall.

A bitterly disappointing defeat for the Braves after last weekend’s huge win over East Kilbride. Up next is University of Stirling at Alliance Park. Saturday 24th August 2019, 3pm KO.
