Gretna 2008 vs Caledonian Braves

W 0 - 1

The Caley Braves climbed into the top half of the table, after recording a 0-1 win away to Gretna 2008.

Facing into the flustery Raydale Park winds, the Braves almost conceded early in the game, after an opposition striker blazed over from close range.

Both teams moved the ball well throughout the half, despite the conditions, and the Braves were ultimately the side to take the lead.

With 40 minutes on the clock, skipper John Guthrie popped a delightful ball over the top, which was latched onto by the on-rushing Aiden Clocherty, who tucked the ball past the keeper with aplomb.

The 19-year-old's first goal for the club, the full-back turn winger was justly praised by his delighted team-mates.

In the second half, the Braves came the closer of the two teams to scoring once again, however one goal proved plenty, to take us to our fourth consecutive victory.

The Braves defence once again deserve credit for their rearguard action, after recording back-to-back clean sheets after Saturday's victory over East Stirlingshire!
