Cowdenbeath vs Caledonian Braves

D 2 - 2

The Caley Braves fought back from two goals down at Central Park, to grab an invaluable point, from the face of defeat.

Cowdenbeath came to the stronger start and dominated large spells of possession in the first half.

Despite coming into the game on the back of four straight wins, the Braves failed to get going, but almost took the lead when Ross McNeil struck the woodwork with 40 minutes on the clock.

However, the Blue Brazil took the lead on the cusp of half-time, when Jamie Docherty smashed a penalty past Bernie White, after Daniel Martins was adjudged to have fouled in the box.

A second goal would quickly follow after the interval, when former Braves man Zac Butterworth sent a dangerous cross towards the back post, which was touched into the back of the net by Martins, who was unfotunate in his attempted clearance.

The Braves could've been down and out at this point, however showed incredible character to rally and stay in the game.

Half-time subsitute Greig Stewart would be the man to get us back into the game, after striking a powerful shot from the edge of the box, into the bottom corner.

A superb effort to open the midfielders account for the season!

The Braves continued to push at this point and fellow half-time sub Cammy Breadner was unlucky to see a powerful effort strike the crossbar, after making a mazy run into the box.

However, the pressure would pay off for Ricky Waddell's men, when Jack McDowall rifled a header home from a corner, with 85 minute on the clock.

This would be the final action of the game, as the Braves returned home with a superb point, to take their unbeaten run to five!
