Caledonian Braves vs East Kilbride

L 1 - 2

The Caledonian Braves could count themselves extremely unlucky to leave Alliance Park empty handed, after a strong showing against league leading East Kilbride.

Both teams created chances in the first half, with the Matty Collins having the best, striking the underside of the bar with a powerful strike.

The Braves players claimed that the ball crossed the line, however the referee waved away their appeals.

Mick Kennedy's side dominated the poessission in the first half, however the Braves were extremely dangerous on the counter attack.

The home side would then quickly take a desereved lead in the second half.

Cammy Breadner latched onto a Jack Brown throw, to loop a tremednous strike over the keeper into the far post.

The Braves continued to dominate the opening the next ten minutes and could've found a second through Breadner, Stewart and McNeil who all came close.

Unfortunately, EK would draw level, through an impressive Nathan Flanagan effort.

With a grandstand finish set-up, both teams created chances, however EK were awarded a penalty, after a powerful shot struck Jack McDowall from close range.

Liam Brown stood up to take the spot kick and squeezed it into the bottom corner, giving Bernie White no chance.

Unfortunately, that would be the final goal of the game, as East Kilbride maintain their undefeated start to the league season.

A performance to be proud of from the battling Braves however, who were worth at least a point on the afternoon.
