Cumbernauld Colts vs Caledonian Braves

L 2 - 0

After victory in the cup last weekend; the

Braves returned to league duty, to face 3rd

place Cumbernauld Colts.

Ricky Waddell made one change to his Xl, with Jamie Watson entering up-front alongside Ross McNeil.

The Colts looked comfortable knacting the ball the ball around their back three in the first half, however both teams matched up well throughout, with the Braves being right in the game

Daniel Martins and Ross McNeil both had decent first half attempts, whilst Bernie White made some solid saves, at the other end.

Unfortunately, the opening good would come after half an hour.

From abouk thirty yards out, McLaren took

strike and caught the ball superbly. It took

a knick off Jack McDowall but still flew into the top corner, a great hit.

Despite the game being well contested, clear cut opportunities proved to be rather few and between.

Rosa McNeil had our best chance of the half on the hour mark, rounding the keeper before seeing his effort blocked by the retreating defender.

With the ending looming, the Braves began committing  bodies forward, however the hammer blow came after 84 minutes.

The Colts drilled a low ball accross the box, which deflected off attacker Mortimer, who cleverly adjusted to poke home.

Ultimately, the Braves were unfortunate to not get the bounce of the ball, however, the lads can be proud after once again matching up one of the top teams in the league
