Caledonian Braves vs Cumbernauld Colts

The Caley Braves fell to a narrow defeat in their final league game of 2023. The game almost didn't go ahead following a baltic night in Scotland, however was called on following a pitch inspection, one of just two games that was still played in the division.

Cumbernauld Colts took the lead in the first half, when Billy Mortimer smashed home for the second time against us this season, after jumping on a rebound following a Bernie White save.

Five minutes later, Jacob Long would level with a clever finish, after the opposition keeper spilt a Breadner free-kick.

Ross McNeil almost had us ahead at the break, but was unfortuante to see the flag raised after smashing home with a great strike.

There wasn't much in the opening forty-five, which continued into the second half, albeit our visitors began to create the better chances. 

White did his best, making four great saves, however the winner would come after 82 minutes, when Callum Home met a crossed free-kick to header his side ahead.

The Braves attempted to final a leveller, but ultimately walked away empty handed, as the Colts leapfrogged Hearts B into 2nd.
