East Kilbride vs Caledonian Braves

D 0 - 0

The Braves dug out an impressive point in the first game of 2024, away to league leaders East Kilbride.

As per usual, East Kilbride showed their ball playing quality and dominated posssession for large spells of the game.

However the Braves held a good shape and caught their opposition out on a number of occasions with strong pressing and bright transitional play.

The halfs best chances came in the final five minutes. First, Keir Samson connected onto a low cross to strike the post for the hosts. Moments later, the Braves pressed up high and won the ball from the keeper, Jamie Watson's dink was well stopped by the recovering shot-stopper and Jacob Long couldn't divert the rebound on target.

In the second half, Jacob had our best chance again with a powerful drive from inside the D, which was well tipped over.

The next best chance came from EK's Nathan Flanagan, who cut inside in the 85th minute, before unleashing a curling strike that clipped the top of the woodwork on its way out.

At the start of the day, few would've expected the Braves to take anything home from the game. However, a small margin of dissapointment was still upheld, as if we could've found a little bit more quality on the ball then we could've snatched all three points.

But a great point and team performance from the hardworking Braves!
