Linlithgow Rose vs Caledonian Braves

L 1 - 0

The Caley Braves created a wealth of opportunities, but ultimately walked away from Linlitngow empty handed following a narrow loss.

Ricky Waddell re- shuffled his pack for this one, with Archie Graham coming into defence for his full debut. This allowed Greig Stewart to step up one into midfield, with John Guthrie slotting in at right back. Matty Collins and Aiden Clocherty also came in, to provide width on each side.

The Rosey Posey came close to a dream start, hitting the post with a great strike from the edge of the box after 3 minutes.

Few clear cut chances would follow, with Bernie White making a l handful of comfortable stops, whilst Guthrie went close with a low bouncing shot.

However the game would be turned on its head after 36 minutes. A looping ball dropped into the box and Archie Graham was unfurtunate to catch an opposition player with an outstretched leg. Penalty Linlithgow. Rose skipper Connor McMullan would step up to take the spot kick and rifled into the bottom night corner with a great hit.

Our best chance would strike on the cusp of half time, when Scott Cosick slipped in Ross McNeil after a swift counter- attack. McNeil would gather, and unleash a thunderous right-footed strike accross the goal. The keeper was beaten, but the martesman was unfortunate to see his effort crack the post.

In the 2nd half, it would be one way traffic in terms of opportunities, as the Braves hunted a leveller. Unfortunately, a mix of poor decision making and sloppy finishing cost the Braves, who couldn’t find a way past Binnie in the opposition goal.

Matty Collins tested the keeper with a few goad strikes, whilst Dan Martins was unlucky with a powerful header .

However, Gordon Herd’s side would see out the remaining minutes with a street smart performance, to claim all three points on the afternoon.
