Caledonian Braves vs University of Stirling

D 0 - 0

Nothing could split the Caledonian Braves and the University of Stirling, after a 0-0 draw at Alliance Park.

Coming into the game, Ricky Waddell rotated the pack, with Greig Stewart moving back into defence with Archie Graham moving into right back.

John Guthrie stepped up to marshall the midfield, freeing up an expansive front five in attack.

The Braves knocked the ball around nicely in the opening 20 minutes, however the better chances would fall for Stirling.

Chris Geddes side came close through Ben Maciver-Redwood on numerous occaions, with the striker proving a handful for the Braves defence.

However it was Archie Graham who provided the moment of the half, when the 19-year-old cleared a goal-bound McKinely strike off the line. Sensational reading of the game from Archie!

The best chance of the half would come with the final kick, when Yan Gromov misread a long ball when sweeping out his box. The ball would fall on the bounce for Josh Gemmell, who couldn't find the open goal from the edge of the box.

The second half would continue to be a tight affair. Substitute Cammy Breadner came closest for the Braves with a low strike that was destined for the bottom corner. However on this occasion, it was a Stirling defender who would be the hero, as Alex Jeanes scooped the goal bound effort off the line at point blank range.

With the clock ticking away, Stirling would still have one big chance to win it. A cross from the left carried through the back post and was met by substitute Abel Manomey, who squeezed a shot off towards the near post. But up stepped Bernie White, who made a huge save to parry onto the post and maintain a point for his team!

The point sees the Braves remain in 13th and we'll be back to host East Stirlingshire next weekend!
