Gretna 2008 vs Caledonian Braves

W 1 - 5

A Five start performance as the Braves make it two wins in a row thrashing lowly Gretna 2008 5-1

Braves kicked things off with an early goal thanks to midfielder’s David Sinclair and Craig Quinn. Excellent strength and hold up play from Sinclair allowed Quinn to tap home his first goals for the Braves.

Five minutes later and it was two. Alan Reid was brought down in the box as a corner was being delivered as the referee pointed to the spot. Ross McNeil who scored and missed one last week, stepped up and smashed it right into the bottom corner.

Braves were dominant in possession and limited Gretna to very few chances. Reece Glackin then nodded in a Serge Makofo cross from close range to also claim his first goal for the team and the Braves third of the afternoon.

Into the second half and the pitch hardly helped the game become a spectacle. Gretna did start forcing their way back into the game and caused some problems.

Their goal came as an in swinging corner was expertly gathered by Alex Marshall in windy conditions but the ball was adjudged to go over the line and the officials gave the home side the goal.

Neil McLaughlin again proved why he has been one of the stars of the season with his long range deflected effort looping over the home keeper to make it four.

Straight from kick off Braves win the ball back, a lovely chipped through ball from Sinclair found McNeil who beat his man drilled a ball across which was flicked on by Makofo’s heel to make it 5-1 on the day.

East Kilbride will visit Alliance Park on Saturday 21st December, 3PM KO.
