Lochar Thistle vs Caledonian Braves

The Braves romped their way to a third straight Southern Counties Cup final, with a 1-5 win away to Lochar Thistle.

Aiden Clocherty opened the scoring with a powerful effort he smashed into the roof of the net, before Kian Speirs slotted home his first goal for the club with a low finish, after being played in by Greig Stewart.

Our hosts would quickly get back into the game after a strike was smashed into the bottom corner from 25 yards, a great finish.

Ross McNeil would quickly get our two goal cushion back, when he nodded home from a corner.

There were fewer chances in the second half, but a late double would put the icing on the cake for the Braves.

Substitute Matty Collins dispatched a powerful left foot shot into the bottom corner, before team captain John Guthrie smashed in a 5th, after some nice interplay with Josh Gemmell.

The Braves will face the winner of Gretna 2008 v Newton Stewart in the final!
