Your Questions: David Winters

10th August 2020

Braves TV is delighted to bring you a brand new feature, which give our members the opportunity to ask their questions to the players and staff each week. The first player to take the hot seat is David Winters, fresh from the announcement that he has signed on again for the 2020/21 season.

We are delighted to welcome David back for a second season at The Braves, after an excellent first season at the club. With 9 goals and 7 assists from 17 appearances, he was third in our goalscoring charts and only trailed Ros McNeil when it comes to creating goals.

At 38 years old, David is definitely the elder statesman of the team. Having played his first professional game in 1999, he possibly won't thank us for pointing out that several of The Braves first team squad hadn't been born when he was promoted to the first team squad at Dundee United.

Since breaking through at Tannadice, he enjoyed successful spells at Ross County, Hamilton Academical and Livingston. He continued to play in the professional ranks until 2013, with several clubs in Scotland and a season in Vietnam with Can Tho FC. Since then he has been a prolific goalscorer within the Juniors and Lowland League, before signing on at Alliance Park last year.

David is well known for being the younger brother of Robbie Winters, formerly of Aberdeen and Dundee United. As if that wasn't enough football in the family, his wife Suzanne Winters (née Grant) has over 100 caps for Scotland.

You have until 12pm on Wednesday to send in your questions for David. Head over to Braves Chat on the app and get involved!
